"As the Father has sent Me, so I send you."

- John 20:21

AJ and Barbara Hensley

The Hensleys have served in Brazil since the late 1990s. After working with Odali & Kathy Barros at the Alpha & Omega Children's Home in Garca for several years, the Hensleys moved to Caraguatatuba.

They have recently started an orphanage in Caraguatatuba and are ministering to Brazil's ever-growing number of street children. They plan to open a vocational school to teach young men and women life skills while also ministering to their spiritual needs. This is about 85% ready, but they are praying for a leader to emerge for this ministry. They also have a flourishing ministry in the school system.

Their church is continuing to grow, averaging 90 in attendance. Right now, they are in need of a bus. They have helped establish three mission points throughout the city of Caraguatatuba, one of which has been organized into a church and the other two are ready. They have offered seminary-like classes for men in their region and have had 13 graduates so far, five of whom are serving in leadership positions. In November 2011, they held a pastor's conference for 104 Brazilian pastors. Two pastors from the States preached about "Rescuing Our Happiness to Serve."

A.J. and Barb are both Kentucky natives. They have been blessed with two children and three grandchildren. Be sure to keep up with what the Lord is doing through them on their blog!
